LÉMAN 1 · PLATEFORME DE NIDIFICATION
Installation, the law, materials, delivery. Is one missing? Write to us, we reply within 48 working hours.
No. No food, no bait. It gives the grebes already there a better spot than your boat.
A few metres from your boat, on the pontoon, the buoy or the mooring block. The installation guide shows a photo for each case.
At least two seasons, no maintenance. Take it out of the water in autumn to make it last longer.
Yes. The cork takes on a little water over the months and the platform floats lower. It still works: the grebe keeps nesting on it.
Because the cotton broke during the season and some nests failed. We use LIROS Seastar marine rope. It isn't natural, but it holds.
Yes, three names for the same thing: a floating base where waterbirds build their nest. Ours is called Léman 1: a cork nesting platform, made to be moored next to a boat.
Don't touch the nest: an occupied nest is protected by law (Federal Hunting Act, Art. 17), and moving or destroying it is punishable. Tell your harbour master, who will tell you who to contact. Allow at least 30 days in the harbour, while the eggs hatch and the chicks leave. For next season, a platform moored next to the boat before spring gives the birds another place to nest.
Don't touch it: Art. 17 of the Federal Hunting Act forbids it while the nest is occupied. Call us. We will advise you and see whether a platform next to it can stop it happening again.
Yes. Grebes can nest several times between March and September. With the platform nearby, they have another option from the first nest.
Because we only make what's needed. No surplus: CHF 169 until 25 December, 189 until 31 January, then 199.
Yes, free of charge until 31 January. Write to us with your order number.
From late February in Switzerland, from March in France. We'll write to you in February to confirm the address.
For now, we deliver in Switzerland. Are you elsewhere in Europe? Write to us.
Yes. Tick “It's a gift” in the basket. Until 15 December, we send a keyring to put under the tree; after that, a letter to print.
Yes. Municipalities and harbours have a full service: we install, monitor, remove and store. Tell us which harbour →
Yes, in a harbour on Lake Geneva, with an impact report each season. →
